Proper care is essential for maintaining the beauty and longevity of your ALUX extensions. Follow these guidelines to keep your hair looking flawless.

Washing

  • Brush hair thoroughly before washing to remove tangles
  • Use lukewarm water—never hot
  • Apply sulfate-free, alcohol-free shampoo from mid-lengths to roots
  • Gently massage, avoiding rubbing or twisting
  • Rinse thoroughly with cool water
  • Apply a luxury conditioner, avoiding the bonds/tapes
  • Leave conditioner for 2-3 minutes, then rinse
  • Gently squeeze out excess water—never wring or twist

Brushing

  • Use a loop brush or wide-tooth comb designed for extensions
  • Start from the ends and work your way up
  • Hold hair at the roots when brushing to avoid pulling
  • Brush before and after sleeping
  • Never brush when wet—use a wide-tooth comb instead
  • Brush 2-3 times daily to prevent matting

Heat styling

  • Always apply heat protectant before styling
  • Use temperatures under 180°C (356°F)
  • Let extensions cool completely before brushing
  • Avoid direct heat on bonds or tapes
  • Wearing hair down to preserve longevity
  • Use ceramic or tourmaline tools for even heat distribution

Storage

  • Store in a silk or satin bag when not in use
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity
  • Braid loosely before storing to prevent tangling
  • Never store when wet or damp
  • Hang clip-ins on a hanger or extension holder
  • Keep in a cool, dry place

Additional tips

  • Sleep with hair in a loose braid to prevent tangling overnight
  • Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction
  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated water or apply a protective leave-in
  • Wash every 2-3 days to preserve natural oils
  • Do regular maintenance as needed — on your own, whenever necessary.
  • Use oil treatments weekly to maintain softness and shine
  • Avoid products containing alcohol, sulfates, or parabens
